The sample preparation process is very simple and convenient:
Inside the DisperCool chamber, silicon oil is pre-chilled to a temperature from minus 20 to minus 40°C. Holding one or two samples, the sample holder is then placed into the chamber. Once the safety lid of the chamber is closed, the timed cooling process is immediately started.
During the cooling process, the sample is chilled to glass transition temperature, producing a totally solid sample.
The cooling time takes between 5 to 12 minutes. Once the cooling process is complete, the operator is notified to remove the sample from the chamber.
A sample at glass transition level can be processed like any other standard rubber sample without smearing or distortion of the specimen surface.
